Because everyone deserves to feel comfortable, understood, and celebrated in front of the camera.

At Crystal G Photography LLC, I believe beautiful photographs shouldn't depend on someone's ability to sit still, make eye contact, smile on command, communicate verbally, or participate in a traditional photography session. You don't need a different type of session. You just need a photographer willing to meet you where you are. Whether you're booking a family session, children's portraits, senior photos, or another experience with me, I am happy to make reasonable adjustments based on the individual needs of you or your family.

A Photo Session Experience Built Around You

Every person is different, and what makes one person comfortable may not work for someone else. That's okay. I don't expect my clients to adapt to me. I adapt my approach to my clients. That may mean allowing extra time to get comfortable with me or the environment, taking breaks when needed, allowing movement throughout the session, changing the way I give directions, or simply slowing things down.

There is no pressure to perform for my camera. No forced smiles. No required eye contact. No expectation to sit perfectly still. My goal is to capture genuine personalities, connections, and moments while creating an environment where everyone can feel as comfortable and supported as possible.

              Understanding Beyond Photography

My experience with individuals with disabilities extends beyond my work as a photographer. I have 5 years of professional experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) as well as 2 years of professional experience working with the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) as a caseworker. Through this work, I have had the opportunity to support individuals with a wide range of abilities, communication styles, sensory needs, and support needs. That experience has taught me something incredibly important: There is no one-size-fits-all approach.

Patience, flexibility, communication, and understanding can make all the difference—and I bring those same values into every photography session.

Your Session May Look Different—and That's Okay

Depending on individual needs and preferences, I can make adjustments such as:

  • Allowing time to become familiar with me, my camera, or the environment before we begin

  • Taking sensory or movement breaks

  • Providing additional transition time

  • Adjusting posing expectations

  • Using simple or alternative directions

  • Working with different communication styles

  • Allowing comfort or sensory items during the session

  • Incorporating a favorite interest when appropriate

  • Having parents, caregivers, or support people actively involved

  • Being mindful of sensory sensitivities

  • Choosing locations that may be more comfortable or accessible

  • Allowing movement instead of expecting someone to remain seated or still

  • Following the individual's pace rather than rushing through a predetermined shot list

If there is something that helps you or your child feel safe, comfortable, or successful, please tell me.

You Know Your Loved One Best

Parents, caregivers, and individuals themselves are the experts on what works best for them. Before your session, I welcome you to share anything that would help me create a better experience—including communication preferences, sensory sensitivities, mobility or accessibility considerations, favorite interests, things that may cause discomfort, and strategies that work well at home or in other environments.

You never need to apologize or feel embarrassed about asking for an adjustment.

I'd much rather know what I can do to make the experience better.

The Goal Isn't Perfection. It's Connection.

Some of my favorite photographs aren't perfectly posed. They're the little looks. The movement. The laughter. The quiet moments. The interactions between family members. The expressions that show exactly who someone is. Photography should preserve your family as they truly are, not force everyone into someone else's idea of the perfect photograph.

Every ability. Every personality. Every family.

You deserve photographs that feel like you. If you have questions about accommodations or would like to talk with me before booking, please reach out. I am always happy to discuss how we can make your photography experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
